You've been Sent a 30s Postcard – be Sure to Take a Look

Artist Sarah Song created an event score during our experiment process, collecting 30-seconds-long field recording from participants living in different cities. She use spectrum analyzer tool to carefully examine the soundtracks, and then reassemble them into visual spectrums. These sonified images increase gradually during the exhibition. However, the audience couldn't hear the original sound segments; they could only imagine the moments and places depicted in the postcards through subtle waveform variations on the surface.

Sarah's event score:

  1. Find a mysterious location of your city (restaurant/construction site/park etc.)
  2. Record with any device
  3. Proceed with a 30-second audio recording in .wav and .m4a formats
  4. Upload to the "BOX"
  5. Cheers!
